Peter Austin

Biography

After 20 years in the healthcare and technology industries, I began PA Solution with the goal of sharing my unique blend of skills, education and experience with groups tackling complex challenges.

Using an “inside-out” approach, I keep groups on track through the creative problem solving process to discover what problems they have, define the problem further and to come up with viable and sustainable solutions to be implemented.

My Bachelor of Engineering degree with a post-graduate diploma in Biomedical Engineering Technology is complimented with an MBA in Management of Innovation and New Technology.

During my MBA studies at McMaster University, I was excited to discover creative problem solving techniques via Min Basadur. This intrigued me to continue and achieve Simplexity levels 1, 2 and 3, Profile and PIA with Basadur Applied Creativity.

Peter is a licensed Professional Engineer in the Province
of Ontario, a member of the IEEE, the Clinical Engineering Society of Ontario and the Canadian Medical and Biological Engineering Society.

Volunteering

Peter engages in volunteer activities by lending his expertise to organizations including the executive of the Clinical Engineering Society of Ontario, as a mentor for startup companies at The Forge- Hamilton’s startup incubator and McMaster University’s on-campus entrepreneurship initiative and as a board member of STARS supporting the arts in Burlington, ON.
